He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Fritz" Riefer and Dorothy Riefer (Denhoff); his siblings, Nancy McManus and David Riefer; and his nephew Eric Riefer.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph Riefer (Regina) of Hornell, William Riefer of Hornell and Linda Riefer of Brighton, NY. He is also survived by one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
