He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hawes and Mildred Hawes (Whitford); his wife Mary Hawes (Gardner); his sisters, Margaret Wells and Marjorie Hawes; and his son-in-law Mark Lehman.
He is survived by: his children, Harry Hawes (Diane) of Honeoye, NY and Kathy Gallant (Jon) of Alfred Station, NY; his grandchildren, Aaron Lehman (Megan), Matthew Lehman (Gretchen), Nick Hawes (Vanessa) and Becky Hawes; his great grandchildren, Josephine Mary Joyce Lehman, Cade Matthew Lehman, Cameron DeCamilla and Lennox Deane Hawes; and his pet Archie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to St. Ann's Academy, P.O. Box 446, Hornell, NY 14843. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
