He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dennis Canty and Ruth Canty (Logue); his siblings, Don Canty, Jack Canty, Eleanor Jankowski, Patricia Curran and Vivian Haring; his children, Kathy Canty (Robert McLaughlin) of Hornell, David Canty (Annie Allison) of Hornell, Tim Canty (Melanie) of Fort Mill, SC, Helen Shick (Matt) of Hornell, Joanne Canty of Canandaigua and Mary Ellen Canty of Hornell; his sisters, Nancy Douglass of Horseheads and Shirley Bettinger; and his grandchildren, Abbie, Alex, Joe Shick, Jerry, Jack Canty, Eadie Allison and Jimmy Canty. He was also cherished by several nieces & nephews, sister and brother in laws, friends and his most faithful companion Charlie.
