He was predeceased by: his parents, Timothy Grimont and Emily Grimont (DiGiovanni); his sons, Timothy David and Michael Francis Grimont; and his brothers, Robert Grimont, Francis Grimont and William Grimont (Diane Troyano).

He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Jane See, Thomas John Grimont and Ellen Grant; and his granddaughter Chelsea Merrihew. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
