He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Michael Shay Sr. and Marjorie Shay (Hamilton); and his wife Alice Shay (Williams). He is survived by: his son Mathew Shay (Melissa); his grandchildren, Connor, Aidan and Ashlinn of Holmes; his son Eric Shay (Rebecca) of New Braunfels, TX; and his brother William "Billy" Shay.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. (895 NY-82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the St. John's Cemetery (1 East St, Pawling, NY 12564).
