It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Evelyn Appel (Hopewell Junction, New York), born in New York, New York, who passed away on January 2, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Michael Rothstein and Ruth Rothstein (Reiner); her children, Ilene (Nick Lacerra) and Michael (Mila Appel); her grandchildren, William Powell, Kristin Appel, Denise Cullen, Robert Lacerra, Lauren Appel, Brenda Lacerra, Alanna Appel and Mikayla Appel; her great grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Arianna, Alessandra Cullen, William Powell Jr., Riley, Theodore Monahan, Bentley, Bradley, Brody Powell and Brielle Lacerra; and her sister Gloria Kaufman.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
