He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Joseph and Anna Joann Butler (Rudval); and his siblings, Patricia Butler and Richard Butler. He is survived by: his wife Emilia Gaeta; his daughters, Karen (Glenn Anderson), Jacqueline Butler-Garcia (Christopher Garcia) and Donna Butler-Ricotta (Daniel Ricotta); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Anderson, Brad and Nicole Anderson.
