He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo D. Cain Sr. and Helen Garrison Cain; his wife Martha J. Smith Cain; his siblings, Cleo Cain, Jr., Richard M. "Morrie" Cain and Cherie Cain; and his brother-in-law Gordon Smith.
He is survived by: his son Patrick C. Cain (late Vicki) of Lyndonville; his granddaughters, Brittany Cain (Derek Szwarc) of Lyndonville and Monica Cain (Stephen Herbeck) of North Tonawanda; his siblings, Gary Cain (late Loretta) of East Pembroke, Audrey Cain (late Earl) of Indian Falls, Gail Cain of Oakfield and Gaye Bolton (late Billy) of Florida; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Smith (Sue) of Las Vegas and Noreen Davis (Jim) of Colorado Spring, Colorado.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
