He is survived by: his close friend Mary Lou Annarella of Hobart; his children, Donna Shortell of Freeport, Jackie Shortell-Shepis of Melville, Dawn Clasen (James) of Chelmsford, MA, James Shortell III (Laurel) of Oakdale, Josh Shortell (Kim) of Ronkonkoma, Stephanie Darling (Ken) and Babylon; and his brother Donald Shortell of Glen Cove. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; one great-grandson.
