She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Herbst and Irene Herbst (Streb); her husbands, Robert Letter and George Rapp; her son Robert Letter, Jr.; and her siblings, Elmer Herbst, William Herbst, Marion Schulwitz, Irene Young and Dorothy Schaubert.

She is survived by: her children, Lawrence Letter (Charles Harrington) of Atlanta, GA, Richard Letter (late Bonnie) of Mechanicsville, VA, Kathi Conklin (Donald) of Rochester, NY, Steven Letter (Carol) of Kent, WA and David Letter (Dawn Dunlavey) of Mechanicsville, VA. She is also survived by six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
