He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles McCandless and Gladys Pall McCandless; and his son Pfc. He is survived by: his wife Linda E. Braun Falter; his children, Marjorie Falter (Rich), Russell Falter (Kathy), Michael Lucas, Andrew Lucas (Tammy), Timothy Lucas (Katie), Marsha Lucas Novak (Steven), David Lucas (Lindsay), John Sackett (Jenna), Jason Sackett (Teri) and BillieJo Sackett Hawn (Bradley); his siblings, Denise Covich (Daniel) and Bill McCandless (Donna); his daughter Cynthia Leonard; his grandchildren, James and Jessica Leonard; and his siblings, Julia Falter, Keith and Chuck McCandless. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
