It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jerry G. Updyke in Highland, New York, born in Greenwood, New York, who passed away on December 16, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldo Updyke and Helen Updyke (Goodrich); his siblings, Doris Ann Jackson, Boyce Updyke and Richard Updyke; his grandchildren, Brandon Donaldson, Tiara O'Dell and Tyler O'Dell; and his great grandchild Bryson Hunt.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne M. Ordiway; his children, Jerry S. Updyke of Greenwood, Michael S. Updyke of Greenwood, Gail M. Updyke (Mick Ahearn) of Greenwood, Linda Loucks (Dennis) of Addison, Julie Hulsey of Greenwood, Thomas Updyke of Greenwood, Ricky Updyke (Candace Cornell) of Greenwood, William Updyke (Jen) of Canisteo and Lynna (Brock); and his grandchildren, Amber Tompkins, Amanda Updyke, Britney Updyke, Kasandra Updyke, Natasha Phillips (Ryan), Ashley Szymanski (Luke), Trent Ahearn, Mark Ahearn (Kaitlyn), Sarah Vallieres (Ryan), George Donaldson, Jr. (Niki), Dustin Updyke (Jessica), Christopher Dickinson, Christy Dickinson (Jonathan), Cody O'Dell (Alisha), Bryce Updyke, Nicholas Updyke, Olivia Updyke, Abigail Updyke, Blake Updyke, Evan Updyke, Reagan Updyke, Alicia Updyke, Bailey Updyke, Brockton Hunt and Jade Hunt. He is also survived by 39 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to the continuing Covid-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Jerry's Life will be held in the spring with the date to be announced.
