He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Schirmer (Bybel) and Frank Schirmer; his wife Mary Ellen (Evans); his sister Anne Marie Tschan (Schirmer); and his brother-in-law Frank Tschan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Stine (Greg) and Kate Schirmer-Smith (Ken); his nieces and nephews, Stephen, Ken, Frank Tschan, Pam Evans, Paula Eddy and Donna Rhodes; his grandchildren, Lauren (Barber-Smith), Ringey (Kirk), Carly (Stine), Brewster (Michael), Aaron Smith (Sofia) and Liam Smith; and his great grandchild Boone Ringey.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the LaVigne Funeral & Cremation Service (132 Main St, Winooski, VT 05404). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Vianney Church (160 Hinesburg Rd, South Burlington, VT 05403). A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Resurrection Park Cemetery (200 Hinesburg Rd, South Burlington, VT 05403).
