He was predeceased by: his mother Ursula Shuman (Ulla); and his stepson Matthew Sturgess. He is survived by: his father Edward Shuman; his wife Mary Shuman (Alice); his sister Nicole Donovan of Florida; his stepdaughter Antoinette Velie; his nephews, DJ and Camron Garrison of Florida; and his grandchildren, Lindsey Brenner and Mason Velie of New Paltz. He is also survived by Many aunts, uncles and cousins.
