He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bossong and Anna Bossong (Roessner); and his siblings, Edward J. Bossong (Helen) and Anna M. Fischer (Roy). He is survived by: his wife Joan A.; his former wife Catherine "Kay" Bossong (O'Donnell Fitzgerald); his children, Eileen Martines (Arthur), Rita Potter (Thomas), Edward A. Bossong (Lorene) and Jeanette Hayman (James); his stepson Charles Fitzgerald (Barbara); his grandchildren, Kelly Rost (Travis), Matthew Potter (Kendall), Alison Angilletta (Anthony), Elaine Thompson (Jason), John Martines (Lauren), Joanne Bortner (Tyler), Sheri Vermaelen (John), Andrew Schmidt, Charles Fitzgerald, Christopher Schmidt, Edward C. Bossong, Joseph Fitzgerald and Danielle Schmidt; his great grandchildren, Hudson, Benjamin Potter, Brooklyn Angilletta, Sunny Tola, Oliver, Emmett, Delilah Bortner, Lance, Logan Thompson and John Vermaelen, Jr.; and his sister Barbara Graziano Edler (Robert).
Viewing was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. (902 Mt Rose Ave, York, PA 17403). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 12:30 PM. Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thomas F Dalton F. H. (47 Jerusalem Ave, Hicksville, NY 11801). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mercy R. C. Church (520 S Oyster Bay Rd, Hicksville, NY 11801).
