He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Buchmeier and Mina Buchmeier. He is survived by: his daughters-in-law, Linda Buchmeier (Gary) of Clemmons, NC and Colleen Buchmeier of Osprey, FL.; his grandchildren, Alicia Catalusci, Bobby Catalusci, Nicholas Buchmeier, Andrew Buchmeier, Ryan Buchmeier, Sophie Buchmeier and Anna Buchmeier; his brother Otto; his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Buchmeier of Nevada, Bill and Julia Fifield of Herkimer; his nieces and nephews, Susan, David, Scott, Sharon, Rick and Joe; his cousins, Rosie Naegele, Ivan, Barbara Fasset, Maria Grupp and Ann Weeks; and his friends, Ted Sosnoski, Mary Peruzzi, Rosemarie Peruzzi and Amelia Schimek. He is also survived by his daughter, sons, son-in-law.
