It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merrill G. Spanfelner of Herkimer, New York, who passed away on December 27, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Spanfelner and Helen Spanfelner (Mahoney); his wife Shirley Moose; and his brothers, Lynn and James.

He is survived by: his children, Deborah (Sykes), Ruiz (Buenaventura Ruiz), Gary Spanfelner (Patricia) and Rebecca Spanfelner; his granddaughters, Tricia, Mary, Heather Bellinger (Zach) and Samantha Spanfelner; his great grandchildren, James, Leonardo, Edith and Hazley; his brother Joseph Spanfelner (Cornelia); and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Spanfelner. He is also survived by nephews and cousins.
