He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Dougherty and June Dougherty (Lubey); his daughter Rebecca; his sister-in-law Margaret Meyers; and his brother Robert James Dougherty.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Leta Meyers; his children, Jennifer Dougherty (Scott Talarico) of Cheektowaga, Edmund Dougherty (Laura) of Trenton Falls and Susan Dougherty (Steven Brewer) of Ballston Spa; his grandsons, Luke and Blake Dougherty; his brothers, Edmund Dougherty (Joanne), Edwin Meyers (Toni) of Utica and Robert Meyers (Kathy); and his goddaughter Stephanie Meyers. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
He volunteered for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Herkimer County where he provided the electrical service necessary for the event for many years.
