She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Backus and Fairy Backus (Brownell); her former husband Albert Russell; her husband Laverne Gerald Wagner; her siblings, Lewis Backus, Jr. and Bernice Salisbury; and her stepsons, Gerry Wagner and Bruce Wagner.
She is survived by: her children, William Russell of Norwich, Gene Russell of Norwich, Allan Russell of Oxford, Deb Hornbeck (Joe) of Jefferson, Diana Brazee of Preston and Christine Acker (Timothy) of Herkimer; her stepchildren, Robert Wagner of North Carolina, Timothy Wagner of Greene, Connie Wagner of Nineveh and Tina Engle of Whitney Point; her siblings, Howard Backus (Mary) of Florida and Hilda Christian (Deborah Marotta) of New Berlin; and her great-niece Melissa Hose of New Berlin. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
