Kathryn M. Lewis Obituary
Kathryn Marie Corby Lewis, age 49, of Henrietta died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Kathie was born July 7, 1955 in Corning, NY the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Betts) Corby. On August 7, 1976, she married Darold Lewis at St. Marys Church in Corning. She was a member of the Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church in Henrietta.
She graduated from Corning Community College with an Associates Degree and worked for JC Penney Department Store at the Marketplace Mall in Henrietta, NY for 12 years. For the past 8 years, she has held the position of Senior Merchandising Assistant. She will be dearly missed by those with whom she worked. Kathie loved to read books, take pictures, and do counted cross stitching projects to give to loved ones.
She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special day of all her loved ones she held dear. The card store was one of her favorite places to visit. Though she was never blessed with her own, she loved and treated all children as if they were her own. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 and a half years, Darold Lewis; mother, Mary Corby of Corning; sisters, Maryellen (Mark) Blough of Succasunna, NJ and Julia (Rick) Reilly of Corning; brothers, Joseph (Judy), Steven (Theresa), and Mark (Michele) Corby of Corning, Thomas (Stace) Corby of Lafayette, NY, and Michael Corby of Henrietta; Goddaughters, Marie Blough of Succasunna, NJ, Jennifer Corby of Battle Creek, MI, and Sara Corby of Corning; as well as six other nieces and nephews, Ricky, Kevin, and Kristie Corby, Christopher and Jason Blough, Whitney and Anthony Corby, Matthew and Sean Corby, Kaitlyn and Kelly Reilly, and Jennelle Corbyall of whom she treasured with her whole heart.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, March 8, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street, Corning, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.
