He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McGovern and Frances McGovern (Heim); and his aunt Mary Lou Villone. He is survived by: his brother Kevin McGovern; his wife Brigette McGovern; and his nieces and nephews, Jacob McGovern, Daniel McGovern, Adam McGovern and Wendy McGovern.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, New York 14450.
