It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Pappas (Hempstead, New York), who passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As William departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though William may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy William leaves behind.
He is survived by: his wife Jennie Economou Pappas; and his children, Dr. Thomas Pappas, George Pappas and Maria Pappas Speckerman. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral (110 Cathedral Ave, Hempstead, NY 11550). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
His efforts extended to the donation of a nearby house, transforming it into the Constantine Cassis Education Center that continues to serve the parish's needs.
