It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Julia Askland of Hempstead, New York, born in Bronx, New York, who passed away on April 10, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hartmann and Irene Hartmann; her husband Edmund Askland Sr.; her son David Askland; and her brothers, William and Charles Hartmann.
She is survived by: her children, Edmund Askland Jr., Susan Poole and Arlene Mills; her grandchildren, Jodi Marcis, Kimberly Joseph, Dennis Askland, Jill McCluskey, Melissa Ducote, Alison Poole, Tanisha Middlebrook and Trina Donald; and her great grandchildren, Parker Askland, Emerson Askland, Nicholas Marcis, Kaitlyn Marcis, Jessica Marcis, Brooklyn Ducote, Jared Selph and Brittany Selph. She is also survived by five great great grandchildren.
