He was predeceased by: his mothers, Grace Suits and Joanne D. Suits; his brother William "Billy" Suits; his brothers-in-law, William N. Ellison and Delivan "Augie" W. Gates; and his friend Bruce Beardsley.

He is survived by: his children, J. Kevin Suits (Mary) of Tyrone, NY, Patricia Dowling (Kevin) of Carlisle, PA and Sheila Carnahan (James) of Redfield, NY.; his grandchildren, Patrick Suits (Betsy) of Tyrone, NY, Cullen Suits of Watkins Glen, NY, Tara Hughes (Nolan) of Oceanside, CA, Erin Dowling, Kellie Miller (Christopher) of Nashville, TN and Molly Grassi (Christopher) of Bethesda, MD; his great grandchildren, Nolan Patrick Suits, Naomi Lauretta Suits and Johanna Claire Hughes; and his siblings, Patricia S. Ellison of Watkins Glen, NY, Helen Gates of Vestal, NY and Frank Suits of Homer, NY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
