He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Stokes and Mary Stokes; his in-laws, Susan, James, Jeanette and Frankie; his brother Eddie Stokes; his brother-in-law Mark Chewning; and his parents-in-law, Jean and Dominick Celli.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Vecchio (James), Daniel Stokes (JeanMarie) and Jenna Enderby (Tyler); his grandchildren, CJ Vecchio, Hailey Vecchio and Matthew Stokes; his siblings, Marianne (Joe), Eileen (Ralph), Barbara (George), Donna, Debbie, John (Amy) and Tom (Donna); and his former wife Diane Stokes. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schuyler Hill Funeral Home (3535 E Tremont Ave, Bronx, NY 10465). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Benedict's Church (2969 Otis Ave, Bronx, NY 10465). A burial was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (10 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532).
In lieu of flowers, the has family set up a fund that will go towards a Robert Stokes memorial bench at Orchard Beach and a donation to the Edgewater Park Athletic Association, both of which were dear to Robert's heart. Contributions can be made via Venmo to @stokesmemorial.
