She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph Engemann and Helena Engemann; her brother Kurt (Anna); her niece Krista; her nephew Karl; her cousins, Fred Huesch (Beth), Trudy Keary (Larry), Richard Kulla (Ina), Margot Jakob (Ed) and Christel Engemann (Heinz); and her friend Mary Margaret "Maggie" Seta.

As with her vibrant personality, Maria's charity was natural and fundamental to her character.
