We are sad to announce that on February 6, 2025, at the age of 95, Mirta Rodriguez (Haverstraw, New York), born in San Antonio, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Mirta may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mirta touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She is survived by: her husband Celestino; her daughter Maria; her son-in-law Rafael; her grandchildren, Julian and Sarah; her great grandchild Lillian; and her sister Teresa. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McGowan Sons Funeral Home (71 Central Hwy, Garnerville, NY 10923). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter's Church (115 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY 10927).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Mirta's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, a cause close to her heart.

Mirta was kind and loving and I loved her humble way of being . Yes , Maria , Sarah and Julian were her tesores . She was proud of their accomplishments in life .
