He was predeceased by: his wife Joan T. Dowd. He is survived by: his children, Kathleen M. Dowd of Hauppauge, NY and William M. Dowd (Barbara) of Manakin Sabot, VA; and his grandchildren, Wes Dowd (Heather) of Moscow, ID and Monica McDearmon (Mac) of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by three great granddaughters.
