He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Bell and Nellie Hafner (Lewis); his brother Thomas VanAernem; his siblings-in-law, Richard Gorman VanAernem, Robert Joseph VanAernem and Carol VanAernem; and also, Gorman VanAernem and Edna VanAernem.
He is survived by: his spouse Mary E. VanAernem; his children, Julie Lynn Durham (William Jr) of Las Vegas, NV, Richard Donald Hafner (Kellie) of Schroon Lake and Erik Gorman Hafner (Lynda) of Hartford; his grandchildren, Thomas Joseph, Shaylyn Kate Brancati (Michael), Jacob Harrison Hafner, Michelle Stephanie Mann-Saumier (Tom) and John Matthew Funiciello; his great grandchild Fallon Lenore O'Dell; and his brothers-in-law, Thomas R. VanAernem (Renee) of Hudson Falls, George E. VanAernem of Hudson Falls and Barb Van Aernem of Conway. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, an aunt and several cousins.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to High Peaks Hospice, 454 Glen Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
