He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Fairchild and Dorothy Schaeffer Fairchild; and his siblings, Walter Fairchild, Betty Ann Fairchild and Charlie Fairchild.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Pitt Fairchild; his children, Nancy Fields of West Virginia, Allen Fairchild (Judy) of Monticello, Dorothy Hulbert of Liberty, Kristine Deyo (David) of New Windsor and Laura Linkous of Georgia; his grandchildren, Steven, Kyle, Paul, Tony, Cindy, Vicky, Jason, Crystal, Ashley and Sara; and his stepbrother Butch Fairchild. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
