He is survived by: his friend Eugene Owens; his parents, Lillian Jones and Howard Carroll Benton; his siblings, Bruce, Margaret, Talmadge and Bobby; his daughter Susan Leigh; his former wife Jeane Keeter; his children, Carole Whittington, Jimmy (Kathy) and Geoffrey Gantt (Wally); his grandsons, Steve Whittington, Chris Whittington and Nancy Anne Courtney Benton; and his children, Amelia Price (Rich), Karen and Tripp.
