It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dennis William Bernitt of Hankins, New York, born in Callicoon, New York, who passed away on December 13, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Bernitt and Agnes Lennon Bernitt. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Gavitt Bernitt; his children, Kevin Bernitt (Morgan) of Hortonville, Scott Bernitt (Shannon) of Grand, Tonya Dirie (Mike) of Hortonville, NY and Lara Bernitt Mota (Penera) of Pinellas Park, FL.; and his siblings, Barbara Hahl (Jimmy) and Michael Bernitt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hortonville Presbyterian Church or the Upper Delaware Ambulance Corps Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home Callicoon, NY 845-887-4900.
