He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norene Keine and Herbert Anthony Matthewson; his wife JoAnn Matthewson; his children, Kristopher A. Matthewson (Caitlin), Mary Rabilloud (Mickael) and Robert K. Matthewson (Samantha); his grandchildren, Eleanor, Evelyn Matthewson, Remy and Emmeline Rabilloud; his brother David Matthewson (Gloria); his siblings-in-law, William Allein (Genave), Richard Allein (Karen), Mary Barnum (Jim) and Susan Green; and his pet Parker. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

In honor of Herbie's memory, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Roswell Park Cancer Center, an institution committed to fighting the disease that touched Herbie's life.
