He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Bates and Jean Bates (Farley); his aunt Jane Williams; and his brother-in-law Gerald Crowe (Jerry). He is survived by: his wife Kylee Bates; his son Alexander Bates; his stepsons, Blake Adams (Chayanne) and Trent Adams; his sister Brenda Lee Collins Crowe; his nephews, Jordan Crowe (Brooke) and Taylor Crowe; and his grandchildren, Remi, Ziah, Theo, Ivie and Carter.
