It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Treichler of Hammondsport, New York, who passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Samuel Rittenhouse and Estelle Beahm Rittenhouse; her husband Bill Treichler; and her siblings, Julian, Kathryn, Patricia and Wilbur.

She is survived by: her brother David; her children, Rachel, Joseph, George (Lisa), Barbara Gregor (Eugene) and John; her grandchildren, Dorothy Morris (Ryan), Elizabeth Rummler (William), William Treichler (Amy Wong), Charles Treichler (Joshua Jenkins), Alexander Gregor (Rebecca Hyde), Sonia Gregor Zorrilla (Martin), Hanna Gregor (Jordon Porto) and Frances Gregor; and her great grandchildren, Charlotte, Jack, Cora Morris, George, Rose Rummler, Benjamin Treichler and Theodore Zorrilla. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

“I am so sorry to hear of Martha's passing. I had the pleasure of getting to know her through our AAUW (American Association of University Women) group. She was an active member and held various offices throughout the years. My fondest memory of Martha was the time when she read several of her poems to us at an AAUW meeting. I felt she had a real gift for writing poetry, as well as reading it orally. I really appreciated her sharing her talent with us, as well as her advocacy of women's rights.”
