“My condolences to the Reuters. Many years ago Eddie would take me to the Utica-Rome Racetrack on Sunday nights. Think Eddie drove a Cuda back then and liked a fast loud car. Manley Staford was his mechanical who would always yell at Eddie, “don’t blow it up cause I have to fix it.” Eddie never listened to him and would just smile. Many nights he’d tear up the car and haul it back to the Texaco and tell Manley to make it faster. Great memories when Eddie let me hang out with him.”
