He is survived by: his former wife Judy; his grandson Bill; his wife Rita Gates; his children, Leslie Wilson (Robert), Maggie Wilson (Jim), Andy Gates (Jennifer), Donald Provick (Katherine), Kathleen Provick, Lynne Wiltsey (Joel) and Jennifer Provick; his grandchildren, Dale, Luke, Ben, Ian, Emily, Simon, Renee and Kyle; and his pet Scout.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
