He was predeceased by: his wife Verna T. Koester; his granddaughter Nicole Becker (Eric Redpath); his parents, Aloysius Koester and Mary Koester; and his siblings, Mary Hottum, Ruth Koester and Harold Koester (late MaryJane).
He is survived by: his children, Carlton (Susan), Kenneth Koester (Kathy), Marlene Becker (Donald), Daniel Koester and Linda Coniglio (James); and his grandchildren, Dr. Darleen Barnard (Hank), Jason (Stephanie), Melissa Koester-Anderson (Alan), Kimberly Coniglio and Amanda Weeks (Kyle). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
