He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Smerka and Theresa Smerka; and his sister Patricia Barco (late Ray). He is survived by: his wife Linda F. Smerka; his children, Kenneth Smerka (Jamie-Lynn) and Jill M. Slighter; his grandchildren, Brittanie S. Smerka (Dave Dudek), Bryce C. Smerka (Chase Klos) and Justin Slighter; and his great grandchild Ashton Shaw. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
