He was predeceased by: his parents, William Fennell and Jean Fennell. He is survived by: his wife Dawn Fennell; his children, Shannon Fennell, Colleen Chido (Benjamin IV), Michael Fennell II (Thomas Croucher) and Kevin Fennell (Rachel); his grandchildren, Benjamin V, Aiden, Grace, Violet, Liam, Charlotte, Joseph, Laurel, Aria, Evie, Wren and Reid; his siblings, William Fennell (Joanne), Patrick Fennell (Debra), Thomas Fennell (Sheryl), Mary Gates (late Michael) and Therese Nebenzahl (David); and his siblings-in-law, Darlene Caira (Lino) and Donald Cummings (Deborah). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the John J Kaczor Funeral Home, Inc. (5453 Southwestern Blvd, Hamburg, NY 14075). A Mass was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Bernadette Church (5930 S Abbott Rd, Orchard Park, NY 14127). A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lakeside Memorial Cemetery (4810 Camp Rd, Hamburg, NY 14075).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike's name to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
