He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann Girdlestone and John Girdlestone; and his siblings, Patricia Nendza (late Abe), John Girdlestone (Lorraine), Delores Siedlecki (late Bob), Michael Girdlestone (Barbara) and Bryan Girdlestone (late Deborah).
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Girdlestone; his children, Michele Ring (Christopher) and Scott Girdlestone (Andrea Wozniak); his grandchildren, Kelly Gorkiewicz (Andrew), David Ring (Alexandria), Shannon VanDoorn (Geert), Patricia Ring (Tom Timmerman) and Madison Girdleston; his great grandchildren, Catherine, Joseph, Ellis and Beatrice; his siblings, Joanne Gordon (Paul) and Gail Lannon; and his nephew John Nendze. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
