He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Richards and James Smith; his stepson Eugene Schmitt (Kim); his grandson Bradley; and his siblings, Richard, Robert, Delores Swantek, Suzanne and Nancy Hayhurst.
He is survived by: his significant other Isabelle Schmitt; his daughters, Patricia Slawicz, Debra Forness (John), Judith Belisle (Robert), Anita Baker and Melissa Walpole (Charles); his stepchildren, Brian Breslin (Judy) and Sandra Walters (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Eric, John Jr., Benjamin, Amy, Samuel, Jonathyn, Jacob and Caring.
