He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William A. Sharkey and Kathleen Sharkey; his wife Kathleen; his children, Ryan Sharkey (Kelly) of Albany and Meghan Rivera of Dracut, MA; his grandchildren, William and Natalie Rivera of Dracut, MA.; his sisters, Kathleen Ferranti of Bradenton, FL, Nancy Applebee (Peter) of Delmar, Patricia Kringas (Peter) of Sleepy Hollow, NY, Jean Sharkey of Saratoga Springs and Mary Beth Sharkey of Saratoga Springs; and his siblings-in-law, Bruce, Laurie Gehrke of Veazie, ME and Robert Ferranti. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
