Virginia Shafer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Shafer of Groton, New York, born in Cortland, New York, who passed away on October 15, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Miller and Esther Cushner Miller; and her husband Frederick. She is survived by: her siblings-in-law, Katherine S. Wickwire (Christine Hodges) and John Shafer (Susan); her cousins, Kevin, Kathy Gain, Mary Esther Ellis (Edward), Lois Ann Points (Ronald), Lynn Sanders (Walter) and Mary Karen Miller; her godchildren, Christina Snyder (Jon) and Andrew Walker; and her close friends, Irene Gutchess and Dena Sinigen.
As per NY State guidelines, masks and social distancing are required.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Groton Public Library or to St. Anthony's Church.
