He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Scheffler and Lola Scheffler (Townsend); and his sister Colleen Pierson. He is survived by: his wife April Lane (Lane); his children, Stacey Scheffler, Tom Scheffler, Charlie Ostrander (Rubi), Liana Klumpp and Orry Ostrander (Amanda); his grandchildren, Shelby Scheffler, Julia Stevens, Cassandra Stevens, Darren Ostrander (Katie), Lane Ostrander, Jacob Klumpp, Logan Klumpp, Hunter Ostrander, Sawyer Ostrander and Stefania Crockett (Jacob); his siblings, Robert Scheffler (Anne), Jeanette Butler, Karen Kimel (Jack) and Terry Scheffler; his niece Becky Collins; and his former wife Sylvia Reeves. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Zirbel Funeral Home (115 Williams St, Groton, NY 13073). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the West Groton Cemetery (147 Durfee Rd, Groton, NY 13073). A reception was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Groton Rod and Gun Club (888 Elm Street Ext, Groton, NY 13073).
