He was predeceased by: his parents, Kellogg Foster and Eva Foster; his wife Patricia; and his brothers, William, Carlton, Donald and Paul.

He is survived by: his daughters, Laurie of Ithaca, Kelley of Ithaca and Sharon of Ithaca.

In lieu of flowers, Stewart asked that donations be made to the Groton Ambulance Fund.
