He was predeceased by: his siblings, Clarence and Russell; his parents, C. Fay Benson and Marjorie Buck Benson; and his wife L. Earlene Day Benson.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Benson (Dianne), Frances Wells, Susan Lindberg (Joe) and Nancy Flood; and his grandchildren, Jenna Wells Myers, Nathan Wells (Jewellee), Sharon Hancock (Tom), Julianna Cobb (Matt), Cathlene Hibbard (Lucas), Levi Benson (Heather), Sherry Negley (Tim) and Clifford Ostrander (Sara). He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.
