He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Houston and Alice Sincerbeaux Houston. He is survived by: his wife Patricia DeGraw Houston; his children, Marlene Houston, PJ (Nicole) and James Houston (Amanda); his stepchildren, Douglas Smith (Tracy), Lorretta Graham (Bruce), Crystal Bergenstock and Cindy Williams; his grandchildren, Jordan, Robert, Rachel, Madelyn and Hayden; and his brother Robert Houston (Sandi) of Florida.

Memorial contributions can be made to the FFA Association (Future Farmers of America) through the Groton high school in memory of Marlin.
