It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Smith of Groton, New York, born in Cortland, New York, who passed away on October 16, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Smith and Florence Knapp Smith; and his brother Thomas Smith. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Batzer Smith; his children, Michael Smith (Denise) of Groton, Marvin Smith of Rock Hill and Melissa Hudson (William); his siblings, Jim Cargill (Nancy) and Sandra Reisen (Al) of Greeley, PA; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Batzer and Veronica Nelli.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Groton fire department ambulance fund.
