Walter W. Lehmann Sr. Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 21, 2025, at the age of 82, Walter W. Lehmann Sr. of Greenwood, New York passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Walter W. Lehmann Sr. to pay them a last tribute.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Walter is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Walter's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl C. Lehmann and Martha Lehmann (Kuri); his spouse Hanne-Dore Rahn; his grandson Kristopher Corfman; and his siblings, Carl Lehmann and Martha Every.
He is survived by: his children, Walter W. Lehmann, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC, Kathy Stoppelberg of Erie and Lisa McNeill (Sidney) of Hornell. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the H. P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home - Canisteo (29 E Main St, Canisteo, NY 14823). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that family and friends plant a tree in Walt's memory and any donations can be made to either the Church of Christ Food Pantry, c/o Carolyn Smith, PO Box 965 Greenwood, NY 14839 or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
